Rectangular Signet Ring

Before it was jewellery, the signet ring was identity itself.

In medieval Europe, nobles and merchants engraved a family crest or a set of initials into the ring's face, pressed it into hot wax, and sealed a letter. That impression was the signature—proof the document came from their hand. The face had to be flat, squared and substantial to leave a clean mark.

The rectangular signet is that tradition in its most original form. More angular and more present than an oval, its flat surface lets lettering sit squarely, while the shoulders taper into the band—substantial on the hand, never bulky. It's also why the signet remains the definitive Old Money accessory: it doesn't win on ornament, it wins on the quiet certainty of having always belonged there.

The face is yours to fill. Shown here with gothic double initials—the most traditional treatment—it can also carry a name, a date, a crest-style motif, or a symbol only you understand. We adjust the typeface and layout to the proportions of the face, and confirm the proof with you before production begins.

Choose how visible you want it: oxidized engraving darkens the lines for sharp, high-contrast detail (shown here), while polished engraving leaves the metal bare, so the design only reveals itself at certain angles—closer to how antique signets wear over time.
