Round Large Signet Ring

Before it was jewellery, the signet ring was identity itself.

In medieval Europe, nobles and merchants engraved a family crest or a set of initials into the ring's face, pressed it into hot wax, and sealed a letter. That impression was the signature—proof the document came from their hand. The face had to be full, flat and substantial to leave a clean mark.

This one returns to the most classic shape of all: the circle. With no corners to break the line, the round face reads fuller and sits with real presence on the hand. If weight is what you're after, this is the most direct of our signet shapes.

The finish is what sets it apart. The ground is cut deep and left matte, while the raised lettering is polished to a high shine—matte against gloss, recessed against raised. The letter lifts itself out of the field as the light moves across it, with no darkening needed to create the contrast. It also means the effect won't fade with wear.

The shoulders are a second canvas. The broad sides can carry an additional initial, monogram or short word—the face for everyone else, the side just for you.

The face is yours to fill: a monogram, a single initial, a crest-style motif, a date, or a symbol only you understand. We adjust the artwork and layout to the proportions of the face, and confirm the proof with you before production begins.
